CHANGE TO CART & CHARGER

If all have not yet heard, there is a number of cart manufacturers that are increasing the efficiency of their battery and charger systems wit the newer carts issued during 2018. The serial number matching and alpha phase charging coming now from Club Cart is the most prominent. This great chargers for this carts will no longer be capable of charging your buddy’s cart. You will also need to be aware of this condition should the cart require service or the charger fails. Replacements may not necessary be available for your local mechanics and the repair shop may need you charger as well as your charge.

This is only any advisory for persons acquiring newer carts during 2018 and beyond. It may save you some aggrevations later.

Here is the latest opinion piece on golfers being fit from my friends at GOLFWRX. This discussion is a good overview of why and how players should evaluate their game and equipment. The principles outlined in this article are the same basic principles that I have learned from all those members which have help me understand the need for player to visit their local clubfitter.

Harness your subconscious mind to launch thought-free shots

Thanks to Golf.com, here is a word for word reprint from my favorite instructor, Dr. T.J. Tomasi, which has help improve my game with more than any other swing thought.

There are all kinds of things to think about during a swing. That can be a benefit, or a detractor. It’s up to you to decide which.

Ben Hogan once said, “The downswing is no place to give yourself a lesson.” Coming from the game’s ultimate perfectionist, the sentiment speaks volumes about the perils of overthinking your motion.

2016 Most Wanted: Blades vs. Mallets

MyGolfSpy had done another good job updating the 2015 testing they did on putters. The integration of information for evaluation by every golfer has a good layout highlighted. Great data source. Below are the links to the best of both worlds of putting.

It should be noted that there are some great names are missing from the both lists. Therefore, Player must do some evaluation of the their individual putting style in addition to testing as many of those putters shown on the two lists before purchasing.

I have recently received one of those putter which are not listed in this report. EVNROLL, a company which follows the Rife plan, appear to have found a great model. The highlight to the line is a slightly heavier head and the incorporation of a purer roll technology. The battle at the top now have a greater number of models from various manufacturers for the consumers.

USGA DISTANCE STUDY

Thanks to the USGA, attached below is a link to one of the most comprehensive studies on ‘off-the-tee’ distance studies I have seen in years. You will find the various parts and pieces of this report came from most of the tournament and tour websites. However, to find all this information in a single place is outstanding.

USGA DISTANCE STUDY

After reading the study you will see that technology has increased distance with about the same degree of advancement we have seen on the advancements in training and concentration placed on these facets of our game since the late 1990’s.

2016 – OVERALL GOLF PERFORMANCE BY STATE

Additional statistics for golfer to ponder. Friends at MyGolfSpy.com had published the supplement to 2016 – Overall Golf Performance by Handicap on May 3rd about our great golf game. In review there are may ways you can determine the final outcome. However should we take the information at face value we can see that the better players appear to play where there are more courses.

2016 Report – Overall Golf Performance by State

In review of the comments there are surely ways to change the justification of the reasons that your area is not #1 on the list (or any higher placement). Since there are those that question the statistics origin and validity, I would also content that persons are out there that have questions several official sites. My justification for this is the proposition by the USGA relative to golfers submitting unattested rounds for consideration on their handicap.

I fall on the side that submission of a round for consideration of handicap should only be a valid round under the rules. I personally don’t submit rounds for my handicap in which I have not played every shot ‘by the rules (IMO)’ on a valid course. Would look forward to comments.

Roll Players: New Golf Balls for 2016

Thanks to Golf Magazine and author Rob Sauerhaft, at the link below, you will find a good examination of the newest golf balls models available on the market for 2016 which could improve your game. In my estimation each player should take the time to review new editions of their current balls and any reasonably close ball in the same category. That is to say that, 1) slow swingers should look at most of the new low compression balls which offer greater distance; 2) Better players should look at the premium balls for these categories and 3) don’t forget the possibility of fashion color choices for each of the types of balls.

Hopefully, interested golfers will review the list and find that ball which is good for your game.

GREAT ADVISE FROM LOCAL HERO

Every parent is interested in wondering how they should handle their children when it comes to learning skills and developing those young minds. Parents and children should take the advise of our most prominent local Texas golf hero, Jordan Spieth.

The book title is “Jordan Spieth: Golf Prodigy to Golf Phenomenon” and has just been recently published Rebel Reads.

I just finished this book on him (i.e. a very short biography but what else would you expect at this time in his life) and I am really interested in watching the details develop.

We all want to know how hard to push our children and when. The great part of the book is how he and his family answered these questions. Also answered and well documented in book on Jordan’s life are some good advise on handling off-course life.  I would encourage everyone to read the book available from Amazon. (I got mine for Kindle).
