Thanks to the one of my favorite forum network at GolfWRX, we have a look at what maybe the next best irons from Mizuno in their MP-18 Line. They are surely looking at all the tweaks that have appeared in most of the other OEM lines over the last 2 years. Read the link below for full details.

Mizuno brings the MP-18 family to Market

Better players will obviously continue to gravitate to Mizuno with this family of irons as they are surely very clean look. The nice part of this series is that they are covering all the various player needs with the multiple editions for different flight and performance characteristics.

Do Shafts Really Make a Difference?

The staff at have hit on another great point which most golfers should consider when making their annual review of their equipment. After reading the linked article below you can see that there is some limited benefit by changing shafts. Read more »

Hogan’s FW15 HI Irons – Game Changer

You have seen it here before. Now it is confirmed that Hogan Golf’s newest iron is trying to change the game again.

My friends at MySpyGolf recently published review of these new irons by Terry Koehler from Hogan Golf which you can read below. This article would be of great interest to the players who are interested in maintaining the ‘traditional iron’ look to their complete set but getting the performance of that current utility club.

With the opportunity to hit these irons early in the introduction process was very exciting and I have been awaiting the chance to put at least one in my bag. Better players need to take a look at these along with the other great irons in the class to determine if it is best for you.

Ben Hogan PTx and FLi Iron

This link is a good resource for those people looking for more information on the new 2016 Ben Hogan equipment presentation. Having had the opportunity to test all these clubs, I was very impressed with the models I tested. My opinion is that those people loyal to Ben Hogan golf would find that these additions will fill the gaps missing and increase the competition with other OEM lines.

Every club which have shown up on this blog for consideration would be a good fit in most bags when considering updates and gap fills. Personally, I am adding several clubs to supplement my FW15 irons. Mix of designs would be great for completing a combination set giving decerning golfs great opportunity and getting the most from their game.

Ben Hogan Golf – New Equip on old Principles

There are a great number of new golf equipment companies which make various claims. Some are valid and some are not. However, I believe that any serious golfer today should include the new BEN HOGAN COMPANY for consideration. They have managed to bring the principles of Mr. Hogan along with many new club design theories in their list of products for the coming year. Expansion of the line in 2016 includes a number of new models as well as a new hybrid.

If you are serious about new equipment, take the time and visit the site link below to get all the latest details on what I consider one of the better OEM lines in the business.

Should golfers chip with one club or multiple clubs?

Here is a great article on chipping and pitching techniques from the gurus at GolfWRX. I fully believe that the conclusions presented in this article are correct. I have been playing this game for a long while, had instruction from teachers who I think are the best in the world and have reviewed most of the others and their principles. The following article would be great reading for anyone in the game to sharpen their conviction on the difficulties we encounter everyday in this great game.

From the articles author, “The other day, a student asked me if they should use the same club around the green or change clubs depending on the shot. My standard reply is that average golfers should always use multiple clubs. I feel that it’s easier for them to consistently repeat one swing, and merely change clubs, there…

Review – Ben Hogan FORT WORTH 15 Irons

I have just finished my review of my play over the last 6-months with my new Ben Hogan FW15 irons and discovered this article from one of my favorite review sites. I very much in agreement with the review of this equipment by I also would recommend anyone looking to returning to blade clubs include the FW15 clubs as an option. One very important part of the article I would emphasis is to insure that each player review, with their clubfitter or Hogan Golf, the shaft options and lengths of each club in the set as discussed.
